About us
The organisation
The LGBT Centre for Health and Wellbeing is a unique Healthy Living Centre initiative which opened in 2003 to promote the health and wellbeing of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in Scotland.
The organisation’s key objectives are:
· To provide a programme of activities which tackle the life circumstances that contribute to ill-health of LGBT people
· To reduce levels of isolation and social exclusion experienced by LGBT people
· To strengthen the capacity of the LGBT community to promote the health of individuals
· To support individuals to adopt and sustain healthy lifestyles
· To ensure that LGBT people have equity of access to mainstream health services and information which are responsive to their needs.
The LGBT Centre provides a varied programme of services, events, courses and groups, most delivered from its centrally located Edinburgh base. The best way to keep up to date with our activities is to subscribe to our regular e-bulletin Village Voices, which you can do from any page of our website (see left hand side of screen).
The 2009-10 Annual Report can be downloaded in PDF format (this may take a few minutes to download)
Information for people wishing to complain
The LGBT Centre for Health and Wellbeing aims to provide high quality services and support at all times. However, sometimes we might not get this entirely right. We want to make sure we do our best to learn from any areas where we do not perform well, and improve our work as a result.
