Welcome to the LGBT Centre for Health and Wellbeing

The LGBT Centre for Health and Wellbeing is a unique initiative to promote the health of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people living in, working in and travelling to Edinburgh. We run a programme of activities, events, courses and community groups. The Centre also provides information on health and LGBT topics and runs the Lothian LGBT Helpline on Wednesdays 12.30 - 7pm on 0131 556 4049.

LGBT Age - Development Worker wanted

We are seeking to recruit an effective and motivated Development Worker eager to rise to the challenge of playing a key role in further developing our award winning LGBT Age Project. This new community capacity building role represents a unique opportunity to strengthen service provision and mainstream equality issues for older LGBT individuals.

The post holder will develop and deliver a programme of work which will strengthen service provision, and provide the opportunity for older LGBT people to contribute to service design and delivery. S/he will recruit and manage a team of volunteers and will work extensively with a wide range of stakeholder groups. The post holder will also convene a reference Group to inform the work of the project.

Give the police advice on equalities

Lay Diversity Advisers are independent members of the community who monitor and scrutinise police investigations of hate crime and influence police strategy and operations for diversity and equality. They particularly need people with experience of dealing with issues affecting public protection, young people of any ethnic origin and LGBT, Eastern European, Sub-Saharan and East Asian communities.
