Job Title: Project Manager (full-time)
Responsible to: Board of Directors
Responsible for: Project worker(s), Project Administrator

Salary Scale: SJC PO 37-40: £29,232 –31,821 pa pro-rata (review pending)

Hours per week 35.75 (funded until end November 2008 with current funding application decisions pending)

Main Purpose of the Job

To lead the strategic aspects of the project and co-ordinate effective and efficient operations, managing the delivery of the overall aims and objectives of the project.

Dimensions

The post holder will be based in the LGBT Centre for Health & Wellbeing in Edinburgh, and work across all areas of Edinburgh.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. To lead, develop and manage the Centre staff team, including responsibility for staff line management, recruitment, objective setting, performance management and volunteers.
  2. To manage the project to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of all its services and activities, in line with the relevant strategic and operational plans.
  3. To manage the Centre’s finances in conjunction with the Board of Directors and the appointed auditors / accountants.
  4. To oversee the development and delivery of all of the Centre’s programme of core business, in liaison with key stakeholders in order to meet the Centre’s obligations to funders.
  5. To manage the Centre’s premises, adhering to, and ensuring compliance with, lease agreements, insurance policies, contractor arrangements and other relevant obligations.
  6. To implement and maintain appropriate systems to monitor and evaluate the work of the Centre.
  7. To advise the Board of Directors on the implementation of the business plan and develop the Centre’s strategy for future sustainability.
  8. To identify funding opportunities and with the Board of Directors, apply for grants and other funding in line with the Centre Business Plan and sustainability strategy.
  9. To act as principal liaison between the Board of Directors and staff / volunteers.
  10. To prepare development plans, funding returns, activity reports, annual reports and appropriate budget reports for approval by the Board of Directors.
  11. To ensure that all staff and volunteers are aware of, implement and adhere to the Centre’s policies and procedures.
  12. To represent the organisation at appropriate senior level planning & strategy meetings and groups.
  13. To work in partnership with mainstream organisations, particularly those in the public and voluntary sector and support them being responsive to the needs of LGBT people.
  14. To work in accordance with all the LGBT Centre for Health & Wellbeing policies and procedures, including equal opportunities, health and safety, confidentiality and financial systems.
  15. To work some evenings and weekends as required for meetings and other functions, for which time off in lieu can be taken.
  16. To carry out any other duties, as may from time to time be determined by the Board of Directors which may be reasonably required of the post holder relevant to the main purpose of the job.
