LGBT Non-Birth Parents
LGBT Non-Birth Parents is a community group led by volunteer community members, with support from LGBT Health and Wellbeing.
This group is for LGBTQ+ non-birth parents to connect and share their experiences on parenthood.
The group aims to:
- Create safe space for non-birth parents where people can share their experiences and feelings
- Connect non-birth parents with other parents
- Offer peer support
- Create community and a sense of belonging
If you’re a Non-Birth Parent who identifies as LGBTQ+ we’d like to hear from you, even if you haven’t been along to our group yet. We want to ensure that this space is designed around you so are gathering feedback via an online survey.
LGBT Non-Birth Parents meets on the 3rd Monday of every second month (6-7pm),
The group is for all LGBTQ+ non-birth parents aged 16+.
We welcome the entire diversity of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community including non-binary, queer, intersex, asexual people and all identities under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella.
We also welcome people who are exploring their sexual orientation/gender identity, or do not use labels for either.
If you would like to join the group, please register in advance through Eventbrite.
The event is hosted at LGBT Health and Wellbeing in Duncan Place Community Hub.
The venue and our event features:
Wheelchair access with ramp access, automatic doors and lifts
Disabled parking spaces x 2
Accessible and gender neutral toilets
Relaxed timing: drop in and out when you like
