Women’s Wellbeing Events: Fat Kid Running + Q&A
Friday, July 28, 2017 @ 18:30 - 21:00
Book online: www.tinyurl.com/fatkidrunning
What does it take to be at home in a body? How do you have fun moving in a world of body shaming and fat burning? Join spoken word artist Katherine McMahon as she takes you cross country on her journey from the fat kid skiving PE lessons, to a fat, fierce, feminist runner. This is not an inspiring before-and-after picture. It won’t make you thinner, or faster. It is a sometimes moving, sometimes funny, always honest exploration of the complicated business of being in a body. The performance will be followed by a Q&A style discussion. Guest speakers to be confirmed!
This event is for LGBTQI people who primarily identify as women, including non-binary people who feel comfortable in women’s spaces.
This workshop is provided as part of LGBT Headspace’s mental wellbeing programme. LGBT Health & Wellbeing welcomes the entire diversity of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, queer, intersex & asexual communities and allies. Our services and activities are for all people aged 16+. This includes those who are questioning their sexual orientation and/or gender identity and those who do not use labels for either.
