Outreach sexual health clinic for Trans and Non-Binary people in Scotland
Scotland’s first community trans sexual health clinic
We’re delighted to announce the launch of a new trans sexual health clinic in Edinburgh (Scotland), for trans and non-binary people.
This initiative is made possible through a partnership between Lothian Sexual and Reproductive Health Services, Waverley Care and LGBT Youth Scotland. Starting on Thursday, 17th October 2024, the clinic will operate fortnightly on Thursdays.
What will the clinic offer?
Our clinic is designed to provide inclusive, accessible sexual health services. Here’s what you can expect:
Testing for asymptomatic STIs: Get tested for sexually transmitted infections, even if you don’t have any symptoms.
PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis): A medication that can help protect you from HIV when taken before sex.
Contraception: A range of contraception options will be available (please note that this does not include IUDs).
Cervical screening: Comprehensive cervical health services.
Please note that this clinic does not provide gender-affirming care or testing for symptomatic STIs (i.e., infections with visible symptoms).
Where and when can I find it?
Where: LGBT Health and Wellbeing, top floor, Duncan Place Community Resource Hub, 4 Duncan Place, Leith, Edinburgh.
When: The clinic will run from 1 PM to 4 PM on a fortnightly basis.
The first clinic date is Thursday, 17th October 2024, from 1 PM to 4 PM. Subsequent clinics will take place every other Thursday, including 31st October 2024 and beyond.
